Hillary vs Trump: A Reputation Disaster!

Published / by BDtop

In a recent CNN politics article, Hillary Clinton’s speech that was scheduled to be on major foreign policy was reviewed. The recent speech Hillary made turned into a savage mocking of Donald Trump rather than covering the foreign policies she had been billed to discuss.

It is said this is one of the most striking speeches of Clinton’s career that she delivered with her well known diplo-speak she’s been characterized with. She unleashed some very biting attacks on Donald Trump and went right for his jugular. Clinton warned that with Trump’s reputation of “very thin skin” no one should let him anywhere near the nuclear codes.

Clinton went on to state that Donald Trump’s reputation for being temperamental makes him unprepared to hold the office of President. This is an office she states that requires knowledge, immense responsibility, and stability- qualities she says Trump does not have.

As is his reputation, Trump turned around and unleased on Clinton the day after her speech. He called her speech “pathetic” as it was not a political speech and had nothing to do with foreign policy. Critics are saying the speech has made a significant moment in Clinton’s campaign. It has given a preview on what her tactics and attitude will be during the upcoming campaign. The presidential debates this year are likely to become fierce clashes between these two candidates.

If this is Clinton’s strategy it has some risks. Trump has the reputation of taking on rivals who have not been able to survive his return fire. Her attempt to convince voters that Trump is a mix of “bizarre rants” included a string of insults that she meant to ridicule him with and to render him unacceptable as a United States President.

Andy Wirth and Big Changes in the Olympic Valley Incoporation

Published / by BDtop

The Reno-Gazette Journal recently printed a piece about Squaw Valley Ski Holdings and its CEO, Andy Wirth. Recent times have been rather difficult for the people of the northern shore of scenic Lake Tahoe. A major drought was extremely harmful to the region’s winter resorts.

It was also extremely harmful to businesses that were highly reliant on them. Issues with nature and water weren’t all that plagued the region, either. People in the region also have had to deal with political matters. These political matters revolved around incorporation issues that involved Olympic Valley. The famed Squaw Valley resort is located in Winter Valley.

Squaw Valley Ski Holding’s CEO and president Andy Wirth may be feeling a bit better as of late, however. Positive changes could be in store for him at this point. He said that the past four years have been extremely hard. Nature had a hand in aiding his business lately, however. There were some storms early in the season that enabled resorts in the area to open quicker than normal. Colder temperatures also contributed to the resorts being able to open at a different time period than normal.

The aforementioned incorporation attempt had many supporters who were troubling to Wirth and Squaw Valley Ski Holdings. Wirth was worried about them because he thought that incorporation would harm local civic and business activities.

These supporters, however, recently made the decision to go back on their quest for incorporation. Squaw Valley Ski Holdings had to use a significant sum of money fighting the incorporation attempt. Wirth said that the incorporation would have raised taxes for businesses and locals.

He also said that it would reduce standards for key services including snow plowing and road upkeep. Wirth indicated that the incorporation would have been a major financial nightmare for the region. He said that it would have been damaging to anyone who runs a business regardless of the specific type.

Andy Wirth was born “Andrew Wirth” in Neubrücke, Germany on July 25th, 1963. He’s been involved with the hotel and mountain resort worlds for a long time.

Wirth chose to become part of the hotel and mountain resort field while studying at Fort Collins, Colorado’s Colorado State University. After he finished his studies at the school, he went on to Edinburgh, Scotland to go to Edinburgh University.

Wirth later served as a San Pedro Parks Wilderness Area wilderness ranger and a Rocky Mountain National Parks backcountry ranger. This was a natural progression for him. Conrad Louis Firth was his grandfather, and he used to work as the US National Parks Service Director.

Wirth has many responsibilities as Squaw Valley Ski Holdings’ CEO. He also, however, concentrates on many philanthropic activities when possible.

Plans to Incorporate the Olympic Valley are Thwarted after Opposing Efforts by Squaw Valley

Published / by BDtop / 1 Comment on Plans to Incorporate the Olympic Valley are Thwarted after Opposing Efforts by Squaw Valley

According to the Reno-Gazette Journal, the Lake Tahoe North Shore area has been hard hit by a massive drought in the last four years. This has significantly affected the livelihood of the communities residing in the area, as they largely depend on the induced business from the ski resorts based in this region. Dwindling business in the area over the four years has been attributed to the fall in snow levels.

Further, the area has been experiencing political issues due to various entities pushing to incorporate Olympic valley. The Olympic Valley is home to the best winter sports terrain in North America as well as Squaw Valley Resort, which is headed by Andy Wirth as its CEO. However, Wirth is a happy man since Mother Nature has helped to solve the snow problem through early storms accompanied by cold temperatures. This has led to various ski resorts in the area to open earlier than scheduled, which is good for business.

Why Andy Wirth Opposed the Incorporation Effort

Wirth claimed that the incorporation move would damage both the civic and business climate in the area. In addition, he stated that the move would trigger reduced level of service delivery to the residents such as snow plowing and road maintenance while hiking taxes for business and residents. In Andy’s relief, the incorporation motive was thwarted the California Local Agency Formation Commission.

Squaw Valley Development Projects

Squaw Valley Resort is set to boost the real estate sector in the area through increased commercial and residential development. Further, the company has been making plans to connect itself and the Alpine Meadows and through a gondola. The original information was published via the Reno-Gazette Journal

Andy Wirth

He is an alumnus of the Colorado State University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree before going to the Edinburgh University for further studies. Upon completing his studies, Wirth worked as a wilderness ranger at the San Pedro Wilderness Area. Later on, his career took shape during an internship at the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation. During his time in this company, he went through a transition of positions to become the executive vice president of sales and marketing.

Apart from handling business matters at Squaw Valley ski resort, Wirth takes part in initiatives that benefit the local community by supporting community service and environmental organizations. After a fatal accident, he went on to establish the Ironman team, which is dubbed as the Wounded Warrior Support. Through this team, Wirth helps to raise finances in support of the Navy SEAL Foundation as a way to honor the soldiers of the Navy SEALs. The information can be obtained from

Nicholas Constantinopoulos is the President of FreedomPop a wireless provider of free mobile services which include data, text, and voice. They have launched not only in the United States but also in England moving into those markets initially using the free services. This is however just an initial move to get their foot in the market, as soon as they are established they begin by identifying market segments that can be better served with additional paid services. As of this interview, their conversion rate from the free services to paid services in the United States have been running at 40% while the conversion to paid subscribers in the United Kingdom has been running at about 50%. Another of their benefits to the marketplace is they can export their expertise to developing markets to help them to accelerate the monetization of their customers their data. Even though with this business model you would think that the mobile network operators could offer the same services that haven’t been the case at all. While FreedomPop has been running an up to 50% paid subscriber conversion rate the MVNOs that have tried offering this have been converting at only around 10%.

In the United States and in the United Kingdom FreedomPop uses the Sprint Network. It has also just launched a global SIM with free mobile data across 25 other countries. They have also partnered with Sprint to provide 3G and 4G service for their customers.

Today FreedomPop has hundreds of thousands of new subscribers and has started the first nationwide unlimited WiFi, voice, and text service for only $5 dollars a month.

Since the initially funding for this new venture posed a problem, that has been addressed by raising 7.5 million dollars in a first round and an additional 4.3 million dollars in a Series A1 financing from Mangrove Capital and Doll Capital Management. In June of last year, they raised an additional $30 million dollars in a series B funding round from Partech Ventures in addition to several more fundraisers to put the company on track to a profitable operation.
