Help With Doxxing Damage

Published / by BDtop

Doxxing is a colloquial term for document dumping, a practice that can cause a lot of troubles. The Daily published a helpful article on the subject of online document dumping. Darius Fisher, the president of the reputation management firm Status Labs, lent his experience to the advice presented in the article.

Document dumping comes in all forms and varieties. All modes of document dumping lead to the same disastrous end result: private information ends up being published online. People who steal email passwords via viruses would be one sincerely egregious way private info ends up online. Hence, the article suggests to change passwords regularly. Not using the same password for all email accounts would be another wise thing to do.

Then, there are completely legal – but annoying – actions third-parties take. Online resources that collect names, addresses, email, and other “public” information and publishing them online do have to respect privacy though. Making requests to have such information removed from the online resource should be honored if the subject makes such a request.

People so doxx themselves. Not setting the proper privacy settings on social media, for example, sends anything posted on a profile into the Google search engines. Enhancing privacy settings addresses this problem.

Googling oneself is not a bad idea either. This way, all things online associated with a particular person are revealed.

Darius Fisher does know a lot about keeping online names and reputations safe. He has helped numerous high-profile clients with such a task. Fisher authored numerous online articles to raise awareness about the serious nature of doxxing and reputation management. His advice should carry weight.

Darius Fisher has a strong professional background related to marketing and public relations. His professional resume includes work as a political consultant and an advertising copywriter. Both of these careers require controlling a message and making sure one is always presented in a positive manner. Many of the same skills he developed as a consultant and copywriter are carried over into his duties at Status Labs. Those who end up suffering from major online reputation mishaps often turn to Fisher and his firm for help. Follow Darius on Twitter @fisherdarius to learn more.

Andy Wirth and Big Changes in the Olympic Valley Incoporation

Published / by BDtop

The Reno-Gazette Journal recently printed a piece about Squaw Valley Ski Holdings and its CEO, Andy Wirth. Recent times have been rather difficult for the people of the northern shore of scenic Lake Tahoe. A major drought was extremely harmful to the region’s winter resorts.

It was also extremely harmful to businesses that were highly reliant on them. Issues with nature and water weren’t all that plagued the region, either. People in the region also have had to deal with political matters. These political matters revolved around incorporation issues that involved Olympic Valley. The famed Squaw Valley resort is located in Winter Valley.

Squaw Valley Ski Holding’s CEO and president Andy Wirth may be feeling a bit better as of late, however. Positive changes could be in store for him at this point. He said that the past four years have been extremely hard. Nature had a hand in aiding his business lately, however. There were some storms early in the season that enabled resorts in the area to open quicker than normal. Colder temperatures also contributed to the resorts being able to open at a different time period than normal.

The aforementioned incorporation attempt had many supporters who were troubling to Wirth and Squaw Valley Ski Holdings. Wirth was worried about them because he thought that incorporation would harm local civic and business activities.

These supporters, however, recently made the decision to go back on their quest for incorporation. Squaw Valley Ski Holdings had to use a significant sum of money fighting the incorporation attempt. Wirth said that the incorporation would have raised taxes for businesses and locals.

He also said that it would reduce standards for key services including snow plowing and road upkeep. Wirth indicated that the incorporation would have been a major financial nightmare for the region. He said that it would have been damaging to anyone who runs a business regardless of the specific type.

Andy Wirth was born “Andrew Wirth” in Neubrücke, Germany on July 25th, 1963. He’s been involved with the hotel and mountain resort worlds for a long time.

Wirth chose to become part of the hotel and mountain resort field while studying at Fort Collins, Colorado’s Colorado State University. After he finished his studies at the school, he went on to Edinburgh, Scotland to go to Edinburgh University.

Wirth later served as a San Pedro Parks Wilderness Area wilderness ranger and a Rocky Mountain National Parks backcountry ranger. This was a natural progression for him. Conrad Louis Firth was his grandfather, and he used to work as the US National Parks Service Director.

Wirth has many responsibilities as Squaw Valley Ski Holdings’ CEO. He also, however, concentrates on many philanthropic activities when possible.

Plans to Incorporate the Olympic Valley are Thwarted after Opposing Efforts by Squaw Valley

Published / by BDtop

According to the Reno-Gazette Journal, the Lake Tahoe North Shore area has been hard hit by a massive drought in the last four years. This has significantly affected the livelihood of the communities residing in the area, as they largely depend on the induced business from the ski resorts based in this region. Dwindling business in the area over the four years has been attributed to the fall in snow levels.

Further, the area has been experiencing political issues due to various entities pushing to incorporate Olympic valley. The Olympic Valley is home to the best winter sports terrain in North America as well as Squaw Valley Resort, which is headed by Andy Wirth as its CEO. However, Wirth is a happy man since Mother Nature has helped to solve the snow problem through early storms accompanied by cold temperatures. This has led to various ski resorts in the area to open earlier than scheduled, which is good for business.

Why Andy Wirth Opposed the Incorporation Effort

Wirth claimed that the incorporation move would damage both the civic and business climate in the area. In addition, he stated that the move would trigger reduced level of service delivery to the residents such as snow plowing and road maintenance while hiking taxes for business and residents. In Andy’s relief, the incorporation motive was thwarted the California Local Agency Formation Commission.

Squaw Valley Development Projects

Squaw Valley Resort is set to boost the real estate sector in the area through increased commercial and residential development. Further, the company has been making plans to connect itself and the Alpine Meadows and through a gondola. Visual Search Engine: A Brave Step Into the Future of Image Recognition

Published / by BDtop

Technology moves forward; sometimes it moves in small steps, but every now and then it takes giant leaps that revolutionize the way things are done. Slyce is in the forefront of this giant leap where visual image recognition technology is finally ready to make its mark.

What Is Slyce and What Role Does It Play?

Slyce is a leading company in regards to visual search technologies that are taking search capabilities to the next level. One can say that Slyce understood the need people had when barcode and QR code scanning became such a success. But there was more to do, which is why 3D recognizing technology was developed.

It is now in the process of being implemented. What Slyce promises is the ability to photograph an item in the real world, and use it to search the web. One can find that item without knowing anything about it. You dont need to know the brand or serial number. Slyce is definitely opening the door to a new future.

Image Recognition Technology is Set to Change Business

Slyce’s technology has endless applications, but it will definitely be useful to businesses in more ways than one. An article found at TechCrunch explains the impact this image recognition technology will have in a little more detail. The article details some of the changes like in social media where visual recognition technology might help the blind by “seeing” an image and explaining it verbally to the person.

The reason that visual recognizing technology, according to most experts, is on the rise has to do with open source. Many companies, like Slyce, are welcoming experts from various places who have the knowledge and the vision to move into the future.

Slyce–with the help of these individuals–are using deep learning technology, user-friendly programming tools, and affordable computing to open doors. Algorithms are being created for all kinds of things, including emotions. Emotions can be used by businesses to read their clients – http://techcrunch.com/2016/04/30/why-image-recognition-is-about-to-transform-business/.

This kind of deep learning technology is unprecedented but can be useful to companies attempting to find out what their customers want. There is a lot of ground to cover because not every photograph has been tagged, and image quality might still play a huge factor when it comes to recognizing an image.
